My family just came back from a weekend of celebrating the marriage of our daughter to a young man who makes her life complete! Last year at Easter time while visiting our farm he proposed to Amber in our chicken coop! He wanted to get her alone and she wanted to go collect our eggs! He grabbed an empty plastic egg and put the ring inside. She gathered the eggs and he informed her that she missed one! Leo and behold he got down on his knees (in my dirty chicken coop) and asked her to marry him.
This story is no ordinary love story. My son-in-law (I love saying that) needed a liver transplant and had the transplant a year before their wedding. What is really precious is that his mom gave him half of her liver. She has given him life twice now! There have been ups and downs even up until a week before their wedding when he was hospitalized at Mayo. This wedding celebration was such a culmination of all things good coming together! The emotions I felt were great but for the groom's family, those emotions spilled over with such joy and happiness at this day.
I could not help but reflect back in my memory to when we welcomed our baby girl into our lives and prayed for her future. I am so thankful for the man the Lord sent who fits perfectly at her side. For this day I prayed as I stood at her crib those years ago.
